Over and over again when selling, realtors suggest homeowners simplify their houses. This is necessary for the new incoming buyers to be able to visualize their furniture and their families within the space; however, don’t feel like selling your home has to completely cramp your style! Still get in the spirit of fall with these tips and tricks:

Decorate Outside

Curb appeal is essential for prospective buyers because it is the first part of the home they see! It’s easy to make the porch an inviting place with few decorations. Simply add a wreath to the door, stack a few pumpkins, and maybe even add a welcome mat if you didn’t have one previously. Create an environment which invites your guests into your home.

Cozy Up the Living Room

Fall season is the time to get cozy. Bring texture into the room by adding thick blankets draped over the sofa. Turn the fireplace on during showings. This will both visually and physically bring warmth to the room through warm color tones and heat. On the mantle, use wood tones and pumpkins to showcase the season!

Focus on the Details

As you walk into the home, nothing smells more festival during fall than cinnamon or apples. Light a candle in the kitchen or one upstairs, but be careful not to overdo it. Buyers can be sensitive to the sense of smell if every room has a candle or if the scent is changed from room to room; however, small touches like one candle can really make a positive difference. Bathrooms are also a fun place to add in a little decor. It’s as easy as adding a few leaves and pumpkins on the bathroom counter to bring the look together.

What are some of the ways you keep up with decor as your house is on the market or what do you notice makes a house feel more like a home during the fall season?
